1862 Camp Near Helena Ark. Nov 25 Dear Parents your welcom letter of the 16th I just received & you cannot immagin what satisfaction it gave me to know that your's are as well as you are I am very sorry that Mother unwell, but I hope & trust ere this comes to hand she will be well and in good health Mother must take care of her health and not expose her self as much as she has. and she must keep in good spirits as we are well provided for and I think we will be home by spring as the war cannot Last much Longer than we will be togather again I trust
