William I received his letter a short time before I left Vicksburg and will write to him before long and Margaret i will write to her I expect to see John here every day James Clark was sent up the river some two weeks since but was not expected to live more then a few days I have not heard from him since he had been sick about four months I heard in camp before I left that enochs Clark was about to marry Ms rockey is it so what a mach they make the weather here at present is pleasant and feels & looks like spring the Plum trees are out in Buds and ever thing denotes spring I suppose
