after I wrote you from near tuscumbia we fought the rebels two Days Driving them all the while we had only one Man Killed in our regiment our loss was about 100, but the rebels Loss was considerable greater we beat them Badley I have Not time to give particulars we are waiting here at present for the Divisions a head of us to cross the tennesse river but we expect to get across to Morrow or next Day I would have wrote to you while we were waiting at eastport on the tennessee river for our advance to cross but I had Not time but as Soon as we get to our place of
