two members of our company die in the hospital at Memphis since I wrote to you from Bridgeport George Stanby from Sicklers Mills & Joseph Grimm of Salem at present we have none sick all in good health. Father I will send by Lieut to Withron twenty eight dollars and to Mother six dollars I will close for the present wish you all a happy New Year from your son write soon R J Moyle Direct as before my respects to neighbors (father dont let any one the neighbors know what I send home as some of them might think it a chance to steal) Mother the money that I made out of the things you sent me will get you some thing that you may want I could have sold every thing I had in fifteen minutes after I got them. But I sold only that I could not get along with
