had stood my last turn and was relieved which was about two in the Morning I went to reserve post and rolled myself up in my blanket by the fire to sleep (then snowing) when I woke up there was three inches of snow all over us but I had a good sleep and felt pretty well after I eat my breakfast which I was not long in getting as we take 24 hours rations with us I can get a meal in 20 minutes as I am a good cook on picket I carry a little pail that holds about one quart of water put my coffee in and Boil it a few minutes take my sow belly (soldier name for dried side meat) put it on the end of a stick and cook eat with crackers we dont have much trouble washing up the dishes on picket ore in camp Well I will close for this time write soon My love to all from your son Robert Moyle Co "C" 25 Iowa
