April 18th,, 1864. day 18 left Columbus on a leave of absence for 10 days, stopped at Shreve/Clinton Station at Mr. D.K. Joneses and treated very well. got home on the 19th at 3 P.M. Over sunday at Fulton. xxx 30th at 9 P.M. at Columbus. 31 at our Church twice. May 1 rainy & disagreeable. 2 National Guard comming in by Regts. They are good & stout looking men. 3th The Draft went off, great excitement. visited [Br: Preiz?] in Colb. and stoppd there all night. 4. Very fine weather. got my Photographe's taken. had Sourkraut for dinner.
