SUNDAY, JUNE 5, 1864. Raining. Started to Depot early - train did not arive until near noon - Landed at Ringgold in due time found all our Regt. property right and boys left to guard it all doing well. got the necessary property for officers of Regt. together ready to Return - Staid with Parrot MONDAY 6 Could not get on the Train as it did not halt and having two boxes could not make the Train. Staid in Ringgold all day Slept in the Q.M's Establishment on blankets furnished by him TUESDAY 7 Up early found a Train bound for the front without Breakfast got aboard or in other language got on top of the Cars and made to Adairville through the Hottest sun I almost experienced in arriving at Adairville found the Regt. on the move remained on the train until came to Kingston. Got off and mounted my horse and went with the Regt. until it went into Camp near a bridge 4 miles E. (Vertically, at right:-) of Kingston said Bridge being (Upside-down at head of entry:-) [one of?] the
