FRIDAY, JULY 8, 1864. Off duty for the purpose of assisting Maj McCurdy to Finish his Returns to washington D.C. having been Cashiered Nothing new or of importance received yesterday weather Warm duty light - Horses doing well SATURDAY 9 Warm Stil employed makin Maj. MCCurdys Returns to Washington D.C. Lt J.C. Parish has recd. notce that his resignation has Been excepted. Maj Thayer Returned from Scout. Capture one reb. and a number of Horses and Mules. SUNDAY 10 Although Sabbath finished McCurdy's Returns to be sent to Washington D.C. Attended Church by our Chaplain in a somewhat respectable Church and it did seem to me like for once was in a civilized Country (Vertically, over entry:-) Maj McCurdy was Cashiered and Left for Ohio this day Lt. Parish Co "A" Resigned and went went home this day.
