TUESDAY, JULY 26, 1864. Nothing unusual, but was sent out in charge of Picket from 2" Brig 3" Cav. Div A. C. Rained quite a heavy shower late in eve Counter Sign Brandywine Horses. inspected by Col. Cline Cmdg 2" Brig. 3" Cav. div. WEDNESDAY 27 Got up early and found my horse so badly foundered that he not walk - had him bled - feet scalded Physicked and nibled effectually and think can save him - All quiet in my line - nothing from front THURSDAY 28 Warm Nothing much to do but command my Co. and see to keeping things in Order. Feed our horses on green Corn they are doing well Co A has 61 Horses 4 detached 34 reported serviceable and the others are not very unserviceable. but such as riding would injure
