But while congratulating you upon your Safe and plesant visit to your friends.. while rejocing at the good news from home.. I was also Saddened at recv.. the news of the Death of Josephes Talbott.. I was unprepared for Such Information.. therefore I was taken completely by Surprise. All I can Say Is that our Country has lost a true patriot.. the friendless a true friend.. We are Still holding our position In the Town of pulaski Tenn... and though Some what dissatisfied at times.. I dont think we could finde a more faviorable position In the whole length of our lines
