OCTOBER. 22. Saturday Left camp south of Jacksonville & marched to Oxford - Rested a little while - when we marched out four miles & camped Roads very dusty 23. Sunday Left camp 4 miles from Oxford early and marched to Taladega Distance 15 miles, Are very short of rations Will take the cars in the morning for Selma Ala 24. Monday No trains to take us off we laid at Talladega all day,, Our rations were meal & fresh beef
