1864 Continued 8th Marched within 18 miles of Mansfield where the Battle was fought the 48th Ohio Veteran Infantry. Vols was captured at this battle and taken to camp Ford near Tyler Texas where we arrived April 16th 64. and was parolled for exchange Sept. 29th 64 and on the 1st of October Started arrived at white Springs 4 miles from Shrevesport 5th left there 12th and on the 16th got to Grand de Cane 17th got aboard of the boats and 18th got to Alexandria 20th left and on the 23rd got to the mouth of Red River and was exchanged and at 10 oclock night Started for New Orleans on board of the steam Ship, St. Marys 24th landed in New Orleans and went to Factors Cotton Press to camp 27th drew Clothing and on the 31st started for Natchez Miss on board of the Colonel Colburn and on the 3rd of November arrived [there?] joined the remainder of the (page torn)
