Continued on board of the Cowles at 4 P.M. run about 2 miles up the river and anchored with the balance of the fleet for the night assassination of Lincoln and seward confirmed 22nd Started at 7 oclock A.M. anchored at the mouth of the Tombigba river at .6. P.M. nothing of importance happening 23rd Sunday Started at 6 oclock. A.M. passed choctaw Bluff (a rebble fort) and tied up about about 2 miles above at dark for the night at Col Smith's Plantation 24th Started at 6 oclock A.M. Stoped at 3. P.M. to wood Started again at Sundown and run until 11 oclock at night and came up with the fleet and anchored for the night 25th Started at 7 oclock. A.M. landed for the night at a small town called Clifton at .8. P.M. nothing of notice occurring
