1865 Continued 17th layed at anchor all day waiting for a pilot to run us over the bars sea tolerable rough 18th Sunday pilot came to us at 7-oclock A.M. raised our anchor immediately and crossed the bars landed at the wharf of Galveston and disembarked went to the publick squair and camped. 19th evening of 19th was detailed to guard at Provost marshals office 20th still at the Provost Marshals office on guard 21st = = = = = 22nd = = = = = 23rd = = = = = 24th regiment was distributed through town in houses to guard we remaining at the Provost marshals office
