July 6th marched to the rail road 7 miles from the river passed through very strong rebel fortifications prisoners are being brought in continually in squads of 100 & [?] Some of the women who have left their homes & gone to Atlanta are now passing through our lines & going home again Say they are not afraid of the yanks there is supposed to be about 3 divisions of rebs still on this side of the river
