Oct had orders to be ready to march at day light next morning Oct 4th revilee at 4 A M got our breakfast before light when the sun was about an hour high we fell in & march toward Marietta our regt in the rear of the Corps brig in rear of the train, we intend to cross the river at Paces ford but before we get there it was ascertained that the bridge had been carried awai by high water we change our course
