& the nut about the same size as ours. opposite Lewiston are the Queenston heights a very commanding & lovely situation with a monument to Sir Isaac Brock, fell opposing invading army 1812, this monument I saw for miles. drove to Niagara falls Suspension bridge. left by 9 P.M. train arr in Albany too late for the day boat for which I had booked through so left at 12.30 noon for Catskill had dinner there went on at 5 to West point The view up the Hudson from West Point is very fine indeed I feel sure the whole of the Hudson must be very beautiful; left the next morning at 9 A.M.
