in five days & nights. Yesterday we moved Again to what "I suppose" is to be our perminant Camp You will "also see" by the Heading of this Letter that I have Changed "Departments" was appointed Quartermaster Sergeant the 1st.. of June and Transfered from Co.."D" to the "Non Commissioned" Staff. the place I think is better than the one that I had with the Adjutant, and the pay, is 24$ Pr month & a Horse. to ride the morning that the Regt was ordered to move I was down Town trying to turn over a Lot of Surplus Ordnance, upon returning to Camp found the Regiment had gon & orders left for me to take Charge of the Regimental Baggage, & ship it through to Louisville. by the time we got the Baggage on the Cars. the troops had gon. did not see them Again until the morning of the 6th.. on the Ohio River. when their boat was Coaling I then had the Baggage
