And then the 4th Iowa Cav has been in the advance in every movement that has been made in this state within the last year and I should very much dislike to lose our place. The prospect of our going to Iowa however is not altogether annihilated, but it will soon be decided. Speaking of the weather on the last page let me tell you what kind of weather we have had. We have had a cold spell to match the one you had about the 1st inst. We had frost nearly every night for three weeks; had a slight touch of snow -- melted immediately -- one or two days too cold to thaw at all and one night -- the coldest -- ice formed one inch in thickness. It is gone now though. It has been quite pleasant
