myself when this war is over but it looks to be so far in the future that I am almost ready to abandon the idea. there is not a day passes but what I meet with the disadvantages of a poor education. I can now see the folly of not applying myself better when I attended school, now Susie I want you to give one year to study just think your self a little girl for one year dont think too much of young society your are not ready for society yet. I do not mean that you must entirely shut your self out of Company, but you must not permit your mind to be engaged in that direction, dont imagine that I think you are a wild girl for I do not. I wouldent give a cent for a girle that dident have some life about her, be a real good girl and write me very soon. I send my love to Father and Mother and all the family, believe me as ever your most affectionate brother Asahel
