Saving...
I witnessed a scene this morning that is not to be desired by any one. that is seeing some of my dear friends and neighbor's starting to this cruel war, my cousin Wily Forbes, and two school mates Jimmie Smith & Isaiah. Aley, it is a hard scene, two more is going to start tomorrow You asked me if I thought of becoming a teacher. I do not think (my dear friend) that I shall. I am not a great friend of children. therefore I think I should not take the place of a teacher Dear Jennie please, pardon me if I do not write any thing very satisfactory to day for I feel very badly, about seeing the poor boys leaving their comfortable places, and thinking, of what hardships they will have to endure, my brother was anxious to go along but there was no person to leave behind, to do the work we have a large farm and he is the only one that is to attend to things
