well We hav just got our new arms Sharps Carbines we ar armed now just as well as any regiment of Cav. and I think can do just as good fighting I wrote afew lines in Susans letter a few days ago to you about that land you know my circumstances and what you think is the best in regard to buying the land from Meldrum do it and I will be satisfied I cant save but very little money here at $13 a month I sent you $50 by Frisbe Will $45 Asahel $30 we will not be paid of again until this fight is over I havent any thing more to write this time we ar very anxious to hear from you all, tell Wesley to write to me no more at present John Mann vicksburg 15th, Army Corps Co, C, 4th, Iowa Cav
