Threw out a heavy picket and moved camp across the river to our former camp The extra pickets were drawn in at 3 oclock P.M. Lister expects an attack but will not accept of any artillery, Sat 22 Had reveille very late and the pickets having been drawn in to this side the river we are surprised and the first intimation we had of an enemy was a shell that came through camp, After 20 minutes shelling they tried to cross the ford but were repulsed by Co K at the ford
