the immense hills, is grand, but not appreciated by us after climbing to the top with knapsack on, All this country is torn upside down, all the produce taken rails burned houses [also?], and general desolation spread over the whole face of the land in our track. I do pity the poor helpless women and children who cannot help but starve if they remain here, Camped on top of big hill at 5 PM having marched 12 m Good, catches the "pet-rooster"
