18" Another beautiful day. In the evening an order was read announcing the assassination of President Lincoln No boisterous threats were made or loud language used, but the deep murmurings issuing from the many groups around Camp told plainly of the feeling within those breasts Woe unto the high official that is unfortunate enough to fall into our hands. Revenge is the muttered word heard on all sides. And we are the men to do it if an opportunity offers.
