16" Made a brisk march to the North Fork of the Rhappahaunock and forded it at Kelley's ford. waited on the bank until 4 PM for the 2" Div to pass, then moved on five miles and camped on a little stream, This country has been beautiful, but not a soil is left, the Army of Potomac having camped here a long time, All along the road we saw their old winter quarters The country is a desert, houses burned and fencing destroyed
