28th Had a good long sleep. Other divisions moved on while we moved camp to a thicket, but in two hours after pitching tents, were ordered to prepared 3 day rations and move forthwith. Rumors of Tallahoma being evacuated, and that it was to be a race who first got to Chattanooga, Never saw such vigorous preparations to move as we made, All in good spirits, and eager to move on. Started at 4 1/2 and moved on the Tallahoma road An uncommon fast march Halted after going 5 miles
