(Added note at head of page:-) 82nd capture prisoners lower in Dixie, Four miles from T- we halt and maneuver a couple hours in the woods (the whole division). Hear heavy firing of artillery at the ford of Elk River, and at 12 we move across the country to a position near the river and camp in a huge corn field This whole country is one thick undergrowth of oak, and such a villainous place to march in we never ran 3d All took a good bathe in a beautiful stream nearby. Russeaus division near us
