At 9 we strike tents amid a soaking rain and ford Elk River which was waist-deep, (the scenes at this ford) Halt near the river and dry ourselves and wait till 2, then march 2 miles to an excellent camp where Russeaus div was in camp in a most beautiful grass flat. ([Since?] Rebel Col &c, Nothing to eat but that captured at Tullahoma) Our cav'y had a fight in this field on the 2nd. 4th, Rather dull 4th, A pint of corn meal issued
