Louie Van Voorhis. Feb. 24, " 1882 Geography. 1. The Western or Central States are called the granery. 2. A prairie is a large tract of land covered with wild grass. A bluff is a high steep bank [and?] generally found along the river. Undulating is derived from the Latin word "unda", which means a wave. 3. The Ozark Mts. are in Missouri. The Iron Mt. is in Mo. Chicago is in Illinois on Lake Mich. St. Louis is in Missouri. Lake Surperior is in the Northern part of the U.S. It is north of Mich. 4. We will find forests in Minn., Wis, & Mich. 5. The minerals found in the Western States are Iron, Lead & copper. 6. The Des Moines river is in Iowa. The Ohio river rises in Ohio & empties into the Miss. River.
