16 by Mrs. Valland that Miss Dunlap name a committee of three to work on the desired ammendent. seconded. carried. Mis Dunlap appointed Mrs. Mayer, Miss Devitt and Miss [Lawthen?] on this com. While this committee were busy Mrs. Patterson of Sioux City gave the report on the resolutions committee. Resolutions In convention assembled we wish to thank the women of Des Moines and the Harris Emery Management for their splendid local arrangements. As this, our first annual convention of delegates for the League of Women Voters we rejoice in the advancement made in the past year and commend the work of our state officers in what has been accomplished in our citizen ship schools thro' the co-operation of the State University's extension department by Prof [Kling- aman?], Mrs. Mayer and other workers. We recommend the continuance of such schools thro' the coming year. For the best interests of the [home?] and the nation, we recommend that a vigorous education- al campaign be undertaken by every one of the eight committees outlined in our national league. viz 1. American Citizen ship 2. Protection of Women in Industry 3. Child Welfare 4. Improvement in Election Laws & Methods 5. Social Hygiene 6. Unification of Laws concerning women - civil status. 7. Food Supply and demand 8. Research.
