The W.C.T.U. met in the Cong church Tuesday march 18, 1913.  Thirtysix were in attendance.  The hymn "Go Labor on Spend and be Spent", was sung, then Rev. [Miss?] Smith read Galatians 5:22 which she used to illustrate the spirit in which we should try to help those who are intemperate.  She said that we must be long suffering, use gentleness, love and kindness and make them feel that we realy wish to help them.  She then offered prayer.  Miss Edna Duffus sang "One Sweetly Solom Thought", and "Some Glad Day" with Miss Fraser at the piano.  The Union will hold a market day Sat. April 12 at 9 a.m. at the Central Market.  A market day committee was apointed as follows, Mrs Emma Bailey, Mrs Watland Mrs Woods and Georgia Turner.  The Union voted that the bill of 85¢ for a secretarys book and 15¢ for leaflets giving the law on Sunday observance be allowed.  It was also voted that a barrel of empty jars from the Benedict Home be sent for and the freight and dray be paid.  Mrs Barnard, District President conducted a review of the Year Book.  The district convention is to be held at [Keota?] in July.  There was great joy because liquors and wines have been banished from the White House by President Wilson; also because of Sunday closing of business places in Washington D.C.  United States Senators indictment of the Saloon" was read by Mrs Stocks  Items were read from several different states on the Woman Suffrage Amendment which has passed the first session.  Miss Jennie Bailey was instructed to write a letter each to Hon Ralph Sherman and Hon H.W. Spaulding, requesting their ardent support of one Temperance Resolution and four Temperance Bills.  A social hour followed.
