17 Devilled Tomatoes Cut into thick slices & broil. Pour over them a sauce made thus; 3 tablespoonfuls oil, same of vinegar yolks of 3 eggs beaten light 1 teaspoonful sugar, half as much each mustard & salt, pinch of cayenne. Heat sugar, pepper, salt, mustard & vinegar to a boil. Beat the oil into the whipped yolks, stir in the boiling vinegar.
