A Receipt for a Cold One Ounce of Palmasittie the same Quantity of loaf Sugar the yolk of an egg. Three or Four Spoonfulls of Barley-water mix & all very well together & take a Spoonful when the Cough is troublesome Another for the same Three Spoonfulls of Rum, two Spoonfulls of sweet Oyl the Juice of a Lemmon & 2 ounces of Brown Sugar Candy bead & Pounded very fine mix all this together & take a spoonfull when the cough is Troublesome For the Pholick given by a Beggar Woman Salt of Centory Salts of Cardos Salts of Wormwood of each half a Dram Mix with Pepperment [?] Water taken in wine at twice [?] To make Reason wine 6 pounds of Fruit to 1 Gallon of Water chop them then let them stand nine days to work Stir them twice a day then squeeze the juice out, & put into the barrel, with a Spoonful of [?], & stop it not Down til it has done working
