Bathampton To make rolls 2 bl s of flour 1 pint of new milk 1 egg well beaten up 3 Tablespoonful of yeast the milk to be put on warm stand it before the fire to rise for one hour Orange Jelly Miss Habhouse To every lb of Seville oranges put 1 qt water. Cut the orange in pieces peel & all, keeping out the seeds, let them boil slowly till tender, The skins should be first seperated & soaked in water for 24 hours or they would make the Jelly too bitter. When sufficiently boiled run the orange thro' a Jelly bag & to every pint of juice add 1 lb of sugar & boil 1/2 an hour or more A lemon or 2 according to the quantity of Jelly, cut up & boiled with the oranges is a great improvement. it may be as well to let the juice boil for 5 minutes before adding the sugar which should be crushed and heated before the fire till wanted 2 Sep 1857
