Seidlity Powders W. LeChevalier Mrs. H Allen Two drachms of Tartrate of Soda Two scruples of Carbonate of Soda } The Larger Half a drachm of Tartaric Acid - The Smaller Mix the larger powder in water, and when dissolved then add the tartaric acid - Sugar may beadded or not as you like, but if used it must be melted into the larger powders that the effervescence may not be lost. Fumigation - Mrs Geo:Frere. A kitchen candle set in a Rushlight shade, with a common wash-hand basin over it, so as that the candle may heat. Put into it a large spoonful of powdered Nitre, and nearly as much oil of Vitriol. Stir it with a stick, taking care not to hold your face over it: - Repeat this in the Passage (not in the Patient's room) three or four times a day. N.B. It is the best purifier when the room is left empty.
