Bath Seed Cakes Take 7 eggs beat them yolks and whites with a little salt then put to them three spoonfulls of good ale yest beat these altogether, then pour it upon half a pound of fine flour and mix it together then set it an hour before the fire to rise then take a pound of flour and a pound of butter and work it to a paist then mix together and let it stand an hour longer then put in half a pound of larg carraway comfits only save a few to strow on the tops of the cakes then flower your papers drop them on & bake them. 6 ounces of fine sugar
