For a cough One oz of conserve of roses same quantity of syrup of balsa mixed together with a few drops of vitriol Varnish to black grates Ivory black & turpentine varnish mixed the thickness of chocolate & laid on with small painting brush the stone must be washed well before it is done it will require two or three times doing before it will have a polish Eye Water Half an ounce of white copperace finely powdered put into a pint of plantane water simmer it over a lamp in a silver saucepan about 3 minutes & skim it with a feather Drop half a tea spoonful in the eye (washing it about going to bed for a watery bloodshot eye it has taken off a speck NB It will give some pain at first
