nor find their peace brethern here because they are all cowards & afraid to fight for their country & flag. If God has no mercy on them they will all perish as "Pharoah host did." The Camp of Drafted men is all hope & spirit, for the dawn of a brighter day in our National affairs all look properous at present, the drafted men are made up of bone & sinew & bravery the best country has, no beard-less boys among us. We have a guard between the Vol., & drafted men, owing to the boys in the volunteer think themselves sometimes two notches above us, but as general a thing there is hardly any dif., We drafted men do all the guard duties in & around Camp McClellan, but the vol., they guard the Indians that is Camp Kearny a quarter mile from us.
