General Hospt., No 2, ward no. 30 Evansville Indy, Jan 28th, 65 Dear Br. Milton, I this morning before I close my envelop to Ellen I would drop a line to you, I feel as usual this morning, the weather is clear & nice the ground is frozen dry & no snow, situated on the Ohio River Banks the most pleasant place that I have seen yet in all Indiana Milton I think that the draft must make some of them feel pretty uneasily, the different a Vol,- receive from a draft man is none, keep this to yourself let everyone experience for his schooling &c., Milton I guess you have pretty cold weather in Iowa this winter, the winter that I have seen does not please me as well as it does in Iowa, the southern [athmoper?] in the Dixies is much damper than here or Iowa, I had made up my mind to go on to Pittsburg but feel satisfied that I did not, some
