Evansville Ind. Feb 17th 1865 General Hospit No 2 Ward No 30 Dear Sister Ellen: I have rec., your most kind & affectionate letter a few days ago I was much please sister Ellen to peruse your letter it was the first one that I got from you since I have been gone. their is no doubt but what you must have felt very bad witt the typhoid fever, for I can now symthize I am weak yet I can move around in my ward & down the stairs the cough that I had so severly is pretty well cured but the Jaundice is taken a hold of me it make one all over a perfectly yellow man I don't know much about the Jaundice yet doctor give some awful "neasua" medicine such like beef Gall & the goodly lord only knows whats all. -- The last few day it has been raining once in awhile when
