you have improved in writing & spelling keep preservering you are young yet Ellen, yet your chance is not so good, but you can get every book want & Milton will assist you often through the difficulty part. The new is scarce with me, Milton want to know where I have my Equipment with me or not I have not they went on to the Regt that is my gun catridge equipments &c., I thought I would have sent my photograph home long ere this, but circumstances & busy employed did not permit & now I would not want any one to have one of me poor in countenance as I am at present, but when I get over this I will get robust like yourself & like the Mowrer in general. Their is a great many Iowa soldiers getting transfered to Iowa, their own state their is one from Boone County in the same ward
