Evansville Ind Feb 23tt 1865 General Hospt No. 2. Ward No. 29 My Dear sister Ellen; I rec., your letter yesterday that you mailed at Boonboro, it was only five days coming & the papers also, I quite glad to hear once more from home that you where all well & the things in general,- I this morning feel pretty well witt the excepting of the Diarrheoa, is about as usual no worst I have more strengtht now, the Jaundice is nearly left me now I begin to gain some little flesh, but Ellen I tell you the Chronic diarrheoa is tolerable hard to cure without plenty of time & choice diet, but Ellen I think I will get rid of it in a few months. The diet is good
