well however Ellen, when I come home I tell you how the southern girls appear, they smoke, chew, snuff, tobacco but low oft the complexion & the hair won't correspond &c., - The war news this morning is good the fall of Charlestown, Fort Anderson, & Mobile, begin to look like the rebels is drawn to the last ditch. I like president reply to those that want the draft postpone he remarked that it was necessary to have three hundred thousand men probably not one would be required to fire a gun. I see Ellen you are bound to nurse the lambs, well to see the lambs jump after they get a couple weeks old make one feel like bestowing some attention I have not heard anything of the Rest of the company yet I presume
