The Soldier Evansville Ind April 14th/65 Dear Sister Ellen I have rec, your welcome letter & I have neglect to answer it sooner, you will please excuse me this time as I am now on duty about every other day, my health is now pretty well restor to former strength & I tell you sister I feel thankful to the All [? ] being who rule all things for this blessing, no one knowes the value of good health until he is brought down on the bed of languishing pain, I don't think that I weighted over 80 " when I came hear on the 23rd of January, now thank the good fortune I am a different individual I weigh now one hundred thirty-five pounds, I will try to send my Photograph this time if I can make it suit; I am wonderful please witt your letter [ ] & all letters that come
