Just like Mother Mills I think father is about right about the ole lady, well sister you know how to take her, she will be very angelically every time she come, soft soap her is only strategy you can use, I naturally believe I have not come in contact with her equal yet. -- -- -- I presume this letter will find you going to school if it does sister why try & learn all you can I hope you will be fortunate enough to succeed in getting Miss Peck for six months to teach your school that will gall some but then it will be only those that would like their own daughter to teach probably not knowing more than two branch read & writing.-- -- I mention that I thought I would leave soon but I can't say when I will leave for the Regt., probably not for a month, I sent Milton a letter that J. D. Moore wrote me on the 9th of this month I rec. it, I wrote him answer, I also wrote him a letter to N., Bern N.C. in the [batt.?] this I don't believe he will get
