Diry of Ellen Maria Mowrer 1868 Tuesday Apr. 27 This morning was cloudy. got very warm about ten twelve o'clock. this afternoon was cool & cloudy eve cloudy the spring is here now flowers, birds, the large trees that has been bare all winter now the tender buds have been nursed into life by the gentle breeze of the spring air, & are expanding into beautiful leaven foliage. how lovely spring is the sound of the Whip--poorwill. as I listened to their lovely sound my thought take wing in imagination of my mind and I see all things that is good, holy & lovely. the time goes fast now its April the flowers are plenty so lovely. Today has been quite busy- [?] planted the flowers today, quite a number, hope the frosts will not destroy them as last year. I am almost inpaitent - I see the lovely blossomes, but must wait paitantly for them A great may people have been here of late. Today there quite a number of people here today hope the Meeting will be attended well hope it will be pleasant weather.
