July [Mr?] Gee preached at Lincoln & Douglass'. [illegible] here Mrs Gee also. July 11th preaching at Peoples School hous. was there. July 18th Gee preached called [taken?] tea. July 25 Bascomb was to preach but did not come whent to [Bloughesy?]. August 1st the quarterly meeting at [noon?] the presiding Elder preached. August 8 Elder Gee preached taken tea. July 8th Sid & A where married sat the preaching the fourth I got in Elder x waggon to come home [too?]. Pap whent up in the buggy coming home the Elder asked about getting married [balking?] the old lady asked where I was [illegible] waiting fro some one to come. I said I dont Know well you think you are young & not so much in a hurry. then the Elder spoke asked if I ever [listen to?] presbysterian preacher. preach I replied in [illegible] well say he is a young single man nice young man told him there was a great many men young men about
