Saving...
[illegible] sorry that [Bennet?] Walters should put his trust so much in the strong arm of the Law and so little in the strong arm of the Lord. Disappointment in Iowa will be the result, when might in a physical or legal sense is depended upon instead of the right. And the desire of my spirit is that the defendants in that case may so act that there may no period in all the future occur when they cannot look back with a sense of satisfaction on what they have done Oh how blessed must that state of mind be, when we can declare that we have been faithful to the several important trusts committed to us. This indeed is heaven for therein the mind has rest & peace. Our friends are in usual health Lot Holmes is better than in the winter Hannah expresses a preference in not having her name used on the call. Hoping that the time may come speedily when all wrong and apprehension shall cease from the surface of the delivered earth I subscribe myself thy friend, J. D. Tomlinson
