Independence, Iowa, June 14, 1870. Mr. Joseph A. Dugdale, Dear Sir:- Although I find it impossible to be present with the convention called at Mt. Pleasant for the 16th inst., I still wish to express my hearty concurrence with every proper effort toward the organization of the friends of equal rights in our State.
